Bike to Work for 1 Week.
That’s all we ask from you. We know you can do it.

Bike to Work Week is an opportunity to challenge yourself, your friends, and family to ditch your car and commute to work in the healthiest, cheapest, and most eco-friendly way possible – bike! Join us for daily happenings courtesy of the City of West Palm Beach, South Florida Commuter Services (SFCS), and all of its sponsors and partners.

Daily Happenings:

Monday (03/16/20): Bike Fix-It Stations

Need your bike chain fixed? Have a flat tire? We got you. Come to the West Palm Beach Multimodal Facility to have your bike professional inspected, have tires fixed, or any other maintenance preformed on your bike! We will also have some fun giveaways for anyone who stops by.

Where? West Palm Beach Tri-Rail Station – 209 S Tamarind Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33401
When? 7am – 9am & 3:30pm – 6:30pm

Tuesday (03/17/20): Bike Safety Lunch and Learn

Join us for lunch and get biking advice from the seasoned pros. Here is your opportunity to learn how to be a more confident cyclist! We encourage you to bring your own lunch (BYOL) but snacks and light refreshments will be provided. The lunch and learn will be presented by Mark Hassell from Bill Bone Bike Law, and Brad Davis from Alta Planning + Design. Both Mark and Brad are experts in biking laws, regulations, and best practices. Learn more about Mark and Brad below.

Mark Hassell
Bill Bone Bike Law

As the Bike Investigator at Bill Bone Bike Law, Mark Hassell is responsible for handling bicycle-related accidents. Mark has participated in races and triathlons for 25 years, giving him a special perspective to bike law and personal injury litigation. His racing experience ranges from France to Switzerland to China to Brazil. Working for the Town of Palm Beach Police Department as the Chief Lifeguard, Mark conducted investigations for the town and naturally transitioned to Bike Investigator at the firm.
 
Brad Davis
Alta Planning + Design

Brad’s leadership with urban mobility and city design has benefited from his planning experience in the public and private sectors, having worked at the regional level for the Atlanta Regional Commission and at the local level with the City of Atlanta Department of Planning. Now, as one of Alta Planning + Design’s experts in navigating the challenges of placemaking and change management, Brad is committed to building healthier communities through better policy, design, and implementation. He is currently a Principal with Alta and manages the firm’s West Palm Beach, FL, offices.

Wednesday (03/18/20): Bike-In Movie

Join us at the Bill Bone Bike Law offices for the showing of “Motherload”. This event is a fun spin on the classic “drive-in movie” but we’re encouraging you to bike instead! Seating might be limited, so we suggest bringing your own chair if possible. Everyone is welcome so bring your coworkers, friends, family, food and drinks!

Friday (03/20/20): Group Bike Rides & Bike to Work Day Celebration

We know biking to work alone can be intimidating, so why not join a group ride? On Bike to Work Day, there will be three organized group rides starting from the follow locations.

1. From the North:

North Route

        • Parking provided at 2425 Broadway Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. All riders and ride leader are meeting in front of Harold’s Coffee Lounge located at 509 Northwood Rd. West Palm Beach, FL 33407. Ride with Chris Roog, Director of Economic Development for the City of West Palm Beach and West Palm Beach Commissioner Kelly Shoaf. 2. From the South:

3. From the West:

4. From the WPB Intermodal Center:

        • West Palm Beach Intermodal Center, 207 Tamarind Ave., West Palm Beach. Bring your bike aboard a Tri-Rail train or a Palm Tran bus. Can’t join a group ride? Don’t sweat it. We encourage you to bike from wherever you may be and join the celebration afterwards.

All group rides end at the West Palm Beach City Hall. After your commute, you are welcome to join the everyone at City Hall to grab freebies and mingle with other cyclists! Don’t you wish every morning could be like this?
